Account Summary

What is the Account Summary page?

Account Summary provides a quick overview of deposit, credit, loans and investment details in BBVA Compass Online Banking. By clicking on any account displayed, you will be sent to Statements & Accounts, where detailed information for that account is located.

What are the Account Modules? Can I move them?

The Account Modules are the boxes that contain your accounts for each of the product types you have with BBVA Compass. The Account Modules can be moved, hidden, collapsed or closed at any time. To move a module, place your mouse pointer on the blue-shaded module title. Click and hold your mouse, then move the module up or down in the list. To close a module, click the "X" in the upper right of the module. Closed modules can be reopened in the Service Center.

What are the Posted and Available Balances for Checking, Savings and Money Market accounts?

Posted Balance is the account's balance after items have posted to your accounts as deposits or withdrawals. Available Balance is the amount available for withdrawal and may include pending transactions not yet posted to your account. This does not include any credit available from any BBVA Compass Overdraft Line of Credit.

Explain the Current Balance for Certificate of Deposit and Retirement Accounts?

The Current Balance is account balance and includes credits and/or debits posted at the close of business the previous day.

What information will display for my Credit Card(s) or Lines of Credit?

Along with the Current Balance you will also be able to see the Available Credit, which is the amount of credit remaining. For Overdraft Protection and Lines of Credit, it is the remaining credit available.

What information will display for my Loan or Mortgage Accounts?

Current Balance is an estimate of the dollar amount required to pay off the principal and interest on the loan or mortgage (not including any unpaid fees and charges) as of date shown. Payment Due Date is the day the next payment is due. Current Payment Due is the monthly payment amount, including principal and interest, as of the date of your statement.

Add/Manage Outside Accounts

How do I add my accounts from other banks?

You can add accounts from other financial institutions to your BBVA Compass Online Banking by clicking on the Add/Manage Outside Accounts link located at the top and in the right column of the Account Summary page. This will launch the Manage Institutions form. Type the name of the bank in the search field under ADD AN ACCOUNT and the bank name should appear in the list below the search field. When you find a match, click on it. This will launch the form to add your credentials for the institution you are adding. Enter your user ID, password and the answer to any security questions if presented. When you have completed entering the required information, click the Connect button. This will update your account and add it to your Online Banking.

How do I update an outside account I have previously added to Online Banking if my credentials change?

If your User ID, password or security questions change you can update your accounts from other financial institutions by clicking the Manage Account link located next to the account listed on the Account Summary page. This will launch the Manage Institutions form. Find the institution you are looking for from the list provided and click it. This will launch the form to update your credentials for that institution. Enter your user ID, password and the answer to any security questions if presented. When you have completed entering the required information, click the Connect button. This will update your account in Online Banking.

What does the triangle icon next to my outside account mean?

The triangle error icon will appear next to an account if we are unable to retrieve your information from the outside account institution of origin. This may occur if your User ID, password or security questions have changed since you last added them. Click the Manage Account link located next to the account listing on the Account Summary page. This will launch the Manage Institutions form. Find the institution you are looking for from the list provided and click it. This will launch the form to update your credentials for that institution. Enter your user ID, password and the answer to any security questions if presented. When you have completed entering the required information, click the Connect button. This will update your account in Online Banking.

What is a Manual Account and how do I create one?

A manual account is an outside account you add to your BBVA Compass Online Banking but do not connect to any outside institution to receive updates. It may be the value of a property you own or another asset you want to include in calculating your net worth.

Click on the Add/Manage Outside Accounts link located at the top and in the right column of the Account Summary page to launch the Manage Institutions form. A link to Add a Manual Account is provided at the bottom. Click on the link and fill out the form to add the account. Provide the required information— enter account name and select the account type. When you have completed entering the information, click the Save It button. This will add the information you have provided for this account to your Online Banking.
