Details you need to make a smart decision

¹CompassPoints only accumulate on purchases. To qualify to earn points, a purchase must be made with your BBVA Compass Visa Card and processed or submitted through the Visa U.S.A. Inc. payment system. The following do not qualify as purchases: payments of existing card balances, balance transfers, cash advances, ATM transactions, convenience checks, fees charged by us (for example, finance charges, and related service charges, if any apply), purchases of prepaid cards or reloadable cards such as certain gift cards, purchases of quasi-cash items (for example, casino chips), purchases of cash equivalents or payment instruments that can readily be converted to cash (for example, travelers' cheques, money orders, wire transfers, and similar products or services), or purchases made using a Personal Identification Number (PIN) or initiated through identification technology that substitutes for a PIN. It may take up to 45 days for bonus points to be awarded. Account must be in good standing to earn and redeem points.

²CompassPoints cardholders must select purchase categories each quarter, or else all transactions default to 1 point per $1 of net purchases. Bonus point categories are subject to change. Bonus points are awarded based on the merchant’s reporting of its merchant category code (MCC).   BBVA Compass is not responsible for awarding points if a merchant reports its merchant category code in a category that falls outside of the bonus point category listing.   Purchases made using third-party payment accounts, mobile or wireless card readers, virtual wallets, or similar technology may not qualify for a 2x or 3x purchase category if that technology is not set up to process the purchase in that category. Final determination of which purchases qualify for bonus points is at the sole discretion of BBVA Compass.  

³ Redemptions of CompassPoints through a BBVA Wallet transaction alert can only be conducted within 24 hours of receiving a transaction alert.  Alerts for card transactions and reward redemption are subject to service availability to your mobile device and cannot be guaranteed by BBVA Compass. Alerts are subject to merchant billing practices and may not be received until your card is charged for the purchase price. 100 points is the minimum amount that can be redeemed in Wallet.
