How do I track debit card activity?

The easiest way to track debit card activity is through Online Banking or Mobile Banking.

If you are a BBVA Compass customer, in Online Banking under Account Summary, click “Checking” to see all pending and posted transactions. If you see any unauthorized transactions, contact us via the Service Center tab or call us at 1-800-239-5175.

BBVA Compass also offers customers “mini statements” at BBVA Compass ATMs. These statements include the last 10 deposits, last 10 debits, or last 10 transactions.

 

How do I cancel my debit card?

You will need to contact your bank to cancel a debit card. Typically, you will be asked to verify your identity before a bank representative can discuss your account with you. Thus, you will need to provide your full name as it appears on the account, your account number, and/or your social security number.

If you are a BBVA Compass customer, here are five easy ways you can cancel your debit card:

  • Give us a call: Reach us via phone at 1-800-266-7277 Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, and Saturday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, CST.
  • Sign in to Online Banking: Send a secure message through Online Banking under the Service Center tab. Sign in to Online Banking
  • Access your BBVA Wallet: Cancel and reorder debits cards, as well as change your PIN number through the BBVA Compass Wallet.
  • Visit a BBVA Compass branch: Of course, you can always step into a BBVA Compass branch location and get assistance with canceling your debit card. Find a BBVA Compass Location

How do I report a lost, stolen, or damaged debit card?

If your ATM or debit card is lost or stolen, please contact your bank immediately.

If you are a BBVA Compass customer, immediately call 1-800-266-7277 to report a lost or stolen card to customer service. You may also report a lost, stolen, or damaged debit card using any of the methods in the Q&A above.

BBVA Compass will suspend transactions on the lost or stolen card and reorder a replacement, if desired. You will receive a new card within seven to ten business days.

What should I do if I notice unauthorized transactions on my debit card?

Again, contact your bank immediately and report the unauthorized transactions. Typically, your bank will freeze your card to prevent any additional transactions.

If you are a BBVA Compass customer, contact us at 1-800-239-5175 regarding any unauthorized debit card transactions. You may not be liable for the transaction, as long as it's reported promptly.
