University Recruiting

LEAP*

The LEAP program recruits top talent from universities across the country and is made up of four components: Learning, Evaluation, Application and Placement. Through extensive exposure to Consumer and Commercial Banking, Business Development, Engineering, Risk Management and other support areas, participants get a thorough overview of the entire bank. This broad perspective, along with extensive job preparation and skills training, assists successful participants in becoming potential future leaders of BBVA Compass.

Recruiting for LEAP 2017 has concluded. We will start recruiting for LEAP 2018 in early Fall.

LEAP Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in accounting, finance, marketing, management, management information systems and related business fields with a graduation date of December 2017 or May 2018
  • Willingness and flexibility to relocate to any location in TX, AZ, CO, CA, AL, FL, or NM for a first assignment
  • Strong leadership skills demonstrated through campus and community involvement as well as work experiences
  • A self starter with strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Team player who is honest and understands confidentiality
  • Foreign language proficiency is preferred
  • Authorized to work in the US without the need for visa-related sponsorship by the employer

University Recruiting

Interns*

BBVA Compass provides an engaging 10-week summer internship that enables students to gain valuable experience within the banking industry. Week 1 kicks off with orientation activities which include line of business overviews, executive speakers, group project assignments and networking opportunities. During weeks 2-10, students work in their assigned department with a designated mentor and structured assignments.

Recruiting for Interns will start in the Spring.

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in accounting, finance, marketing, management, management information systems and related business fields with a graduation date of December 2017 or May 2018
  • Rising senior at a 4-year university
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0
  • Team player who is honest and understands confidentiality
  • Excellent and assertive communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to manage change and uncertainty
  • Experience in a leadership role (campus or professional organization) preferred
  • Previous internship or professional experience preferred
  • Authorized to work in the US without the need for visa-related sponsorship by the employer
