Today money and information travel at lightening speeds.

Keeping track of all of that movement can be challenging. In a digital world, you need a strategy that is more real-time than balancing your checkbook. And, with identity theft and fraud constantly evolving, the stakes are even higher.

In fact in 2013, every 2 seconds someone was a victim of fraud in the U.S. And what a fraudster steals in only seconds can take you months, even years, to repair.

“They’re asking you to do all of this online stuff, but I don't trust that the online security is what it should be”

Understanding that the stakes are high, who do you trust?

Is avoiding technology the right answer?

What is your bank’s role?

BBVA Compass is not only staying ahead, we’re leading the way by investing in innovative technology like real-time banking, which makes mobile banking and account alerts a powerful tool for you. And staying ahead and informed is one of the keys to fighting ID theft and fraud.

Mobile banking and 2 minutes a day is all it takes to sign-in and view your account balance and that day’s transactions. Although it sounds simple, this one activity done daily is the most important step you can take to dramatically reduce the potential impact of fraud on your finances.

Plus, when you combine your daily account review with the power of real-time customizable alerts, even when you’re not signed in to your account, you always have an eye on your account. And with real-time banking technology…when we know, you know.

“Whoever thought that you would have so much power just in your pocket?”

So, if you’re worried about ID theft and fraud, take control. Begin your daily 2 minute account review and activate Account Alerts. Simply go to your BBVA Compass Mobile Banking APP on your smart phone.

Don’t have it? Search your app Store for BBVA Compass, download the Mobile Banking app and sign in.

If you do not already have log-in credentials, set-up a username and password in a few simple steps:

  1. Once signed in, select the “MORE” tab at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Select “ALERTS”
  3. Choose the account and turn on the alerts that will best help you stay informed.
  4. Customize alerts so you are notified precisely when you need to be.

It’s that simple.

If you receive an alert and suspect fraud, take comfort knowing that we’re only a phone call away. Together we will protect you and arm you. That’s the power of real-time banking and that’s banking built for you.

Message and Data Rates may apply. BBVA Compass is a trade name of Compass Bank, Member FDIC.

We understand that there is a certain level of distrust that comes with using technology to manage your finances if you are not familiar with it.

But as your bank, we encourage you to not be intimidated by banking digitally, but to be excited by it. Because of digital banking together we can quickly identify and stop fraudulent activity.

Plus, it will radically improve your ability to manage your finances. Simply knowing, puts you in control and reduces all of the fear and stress.
