Mortgage Application Checklist
Here's what you'll need:
- Social Security numbers for all applicants.
- Home addresses for past two years (if renting, landlord's address and phone).
- Employment information (name, address, phone) for past two years.
- Complete income information (salary, overtime, bonuses, etc.) for past two years.
- W-2s for past two years and pay stubs for past 30 days.
- For self-employed or commissioned folks, you'll need federal income tax returns (all schedules) for past two years, plus a year-to-date balance sheet for business.
- Bank statements for the past 60 days. Include all savings, checking, money market accounts and current loans.
- Current expenses, including housing, credit card and loan payments, child support, and other obligations.
- Evidence of any additional sources of funds necessary for the loan (closing costs, etc.).
- If you've had a divorce or bankruptcy, we'll need a copy of your divorce decree or bankruptcy filing and discharge.
- If you've already put a contract on a house, we'll need a copy of that, too.
Mortgages are subject to approval, including credit approval.
