We’ve collected some of our most frequently asked customer service and technical questions to help you resolve potential problems and get your questions answered as quickly as possible.
Simple Cash Back is a program through which you can earn cash-back Rewards by activating offers presented within Online Banking and then making a qualifying purchase with your BBVA Compass Visa® Check Card. Through this program, you’ll receive targeted offers to receive Rewards on purchases that are tailored to your specific interests. We will automatically tally and deposit any earned Rewards into your participating account.
All you need to participate is an Online Banking account and a BBVA Compass Consumer Visa Check Card. If these two criteria are met you will automatically see the program within Online Banking. Just visit the account detail page for the qualifying account to start taking advantage of available offers. A qualifying account is an account for which a Consumer Check Card was issued.
There is no cost associated with Simple Cash Back. The program is just another benefit of using BBVA Compass Online Banking.
No. Personally identifiable information is not shared with Simple Cash Back retailers or Service Providers. Offers are provided to BBVA Compass and then matched up by BBVA Compass with specific participants for whom the offers are deemed relevant.
Earning Rewards is easy. First, click on any offer in your Online Banking account detail page. Offers may be presented within your transaction history, or in the Simple Cash Back Hub. Once you click on an offer, it is activated. Some offers allow you to simply shop at a participating location, while others may require that you shop directly through a link provided in the offer. Be sure to read each offer’s details carefully. Once you shop we’ll do the rest. All earned Rewards are deposited monthly and delivery schedules are clearly outlined within the Simple Cash Back Hub.
Offers are located within Online Banking on the account detail page, listed in your transaction history, or in the Simple Cash Back Hub for the qualifying account. A full list of offers is always available in the Simple Cash Back Hub, including all offers received, activated and redeemed. The full list of offers includes details specific to each offer. Expired and redeemed offers, as well as limited time offers, may only be visible for a limited time.
Rewards will typically be deposited to your account one month following the month a Reward is redeemed. Since we do not share your personal information with retailers, we cannot credit your account immediately at the time of purchase. If you’d like to see the offers you have redeemed, the total value of the offers you have redeemed, or the expected delivery month please visit the Simple Cash Back Hub in Online Banking.
Each offer has an offer period that is set by the merchant. You must redeem an offer by the expiration date. The expiration date can be found in the offer details section after activating the offer.
Generally, you do not need a coupon or code to redeem the offers. In most cases you just use your BBVA Compass Visa Check Card to pay for the qualifying purchase. Some online offers may require you to shop directly through a link provided in the offer, or to enter a redemption code, but such requirements are communicated in the offer.
Yes, as long as the amount paid with your card meets the requirements of the offer after the coupon or discount is applied. For example, if the offer requires a purchase of $20, the amount of the purchase after the discount must be at least $20.
Yes. The minimum amount includes the sales tax for that purchase. For example: if an offer required you to spend $40.00 to qualify and you spent $38.00 plus $2.28 sales tax ($40.28), the purchase is qualifying.
Unfortunately, no. Once an offer has expired there is no way to retrieve it. Please view all offers and expiration dates in the Simple Cash Back Hub.
Each offer received through Simple Cash Back is tailored for each specific participant, so the offers you receive are relevant to you specifically. Since everyone’s purchasing behavior is different, there is no way to get someone else’s offer unless you have the same behavior as that cardholder.
To earn Rewards, the card that makes the qualifying purchase must be a card associated with the account that received the offer, and the qualifying purchase must debit directly from the account that received the offer.
I have a card for my Savings account. Why don't I see Simple Cash Back offers in my Savings transactions?
Only consumer checking accounts that have been issued a BBVA Compass Visa Check Card are eligible for the program.
Offers are matched on an account level, based on the purchase behavior for each specific qualifying account. If you make different purchases from different accounts, you will see different offers for those accounts. Each account is independent of one another and therefore unique.
Simple Cash Back offers apply to the qualifying account, so purchases made with any of your cards tied to that account could be qualifying purchases.
I went to Online Banking but didn't see any offers. I have a BBVA Compass Visa Check Card so why don't I have any offers?
Offers are based on how you currently shop to ensure the offers you receive are relevant. If you seldom use your card, you may not receive any offers until you start to use your card more. The more you use your card, the more chances you will have to receive offers tailored to your specific purchasing behavior.
You can hide offers during an Online Banking session by clicking "Hide all Offers". However, you cannot hide offers permanently, and hiding offers does not mean you have opted-out of receiving offers for Rewards. To opt-out of receiving offers for Rewards, visit the Simple Cash Back Hub and click "Opt-Out". Additionally, Simple Cash Back Preferences can be managed by visiting the Simple Cash Back section of the Online Banking Service Center.
Any accountholder with access to the account within Online Banking can choose to opt-out of or opt-in to receiving offers for Rewards at any time.
You will not be presented any new offers after opting out of receiving offers for Rewards, but any Rewards earned prior to opting out will be deposited to your account according to the normal delivery schedule. You may continue to view earned and paid rewards in the Simple Cash Back Hub even after you have opted out. Any activated offers where the fulfillment requirements have not been met will no longer be available after you opt-out of receiving offers for Rewards. However, if you opt back in, offers will be generated once again.
If you close the Qualifying Account before earned Rewards are credited to the account, you will forfeit the amount of any Rewards earned but not yet received.
