Mobile Banking Demo - Android Picture Bill Pay App

Getting Started

Simply download the BBVA Compass Mobile app from Google Play.™  Search for BBVA Compass, or text the word android to 4BBVA (42282).

Sign on to Compass Mobile Banking* with your Online Banking username and password. Don’t have one yet? Simply use your check card and PIN to activate a username all from your mobile phone.

Begin the Demo

Text HELP to 42282 for Help and STOP to cancel. A one time message will be sent. For assistance with Mobile Banking questions, please contact Customer Service at 800-273-1057.

Summary Tab

From the Payments icon, click on the Picture Bill Payment submenu to get started.

Picture Bill Payment

Follow the instructions to take the best picture possible. Click the Take Picture button when ready to continue.

  1. Detach the Payment Coupon from the billing statement before taking the picture.
  2. Place the Payment Coupon on a dark surface.
  3. Provide enough light.
  4. Keep the camera flat and stable over the document.
  5. Center the Payment Coupon within the rectangle.
  6. Take the picture.

Take Picture

Center the payment coupon in the rectangle on a dark surface, trying to hold as still as possible. MAKE SURE TO ONLY TAKE A PICTURE OF THE PAYMENT COUPON, NOT THE ENTIRE 8.5 X 11 INCH BILL; YOU WILL RECEIVE AN ERROR MESSAGE. Then click the camera button.

Picture Bill Payment

If the image is not blurry or you are satisfied click the save button to continue the process. If the image is blurry you can click the retake button to take the picture again. Or if you changed your mind you can click the cancel button to stop the process.

Manage Payees

Make sure to verify the information auto filled from the picture payment process is correct. Correct any errors or fill in missing fields as needed.

You can give your Payee a nickname this will not be auto filled.

You will notice the phone number field was blank that was because it was located on a different area of the bill. It can easily be added here. Click ok to continue or cancel to stop the process.

In some cases you will receive a One Time PIN either to the SMS mobile number on file or the email address on record depending on your preferences. You will only have a few minutes to retrieve the security code before it resets.

After receiving the email or SMS text message, enter the number in the security code box and click the submit button to continue. If you want to stop the process click the cancel button.

Make a New Payment

After choosing the account to fund the bill payee, validating the amount, payee’s name, and selecting the payee date click the submit payment button. A message will appear telling you the payee had been added.
