At BBVA Compass, we take corporate citizenship seriously. Through direct financial contributions and employee volunteerism, we work for a better future for people.
The BBVA Group is widely recognized for its community involvement. This year alone, BBVA has been recognized for its commitment to improving the quality of life for the disabled and for the advancement of women. In 2007, BBVA awarded 18,000 scholarships to underprivileged children.
Here are some of the ways we’re making a difference in the United States:
Compass Foundation
Each year, BBVA Compass allocates an amount for charitable activities to distribute within our communities. This amount has averaged more than $5 million annually over the past few years.
Compass Charity
Employees can contribute to Compass Charity each pay period through payroll deduction and are encouraged to give at the guideline level of one-half of 1 percent of their base pay. The money is administered by local employee committees, who select and identify which agencies receive their donations. Pooling resources allows us to have a greater impact on the communities where we live and work.
TEAM Compass
This is a BBVA Compass-sponsored organization of employee volunteers who pool their time, ideas, and talent to produce real change in their communities. The groups coordinate service projects and activities that promote positive morale and employee engagement at BBVA Compass. TEAM Compass is an integral piece of our tradition of generosity, service, and community leadership.
